About ATTECS, LLC
ATTECS is an independent virtual center promoting the use of academic technology and innovative teaching. We work with colleges and universities in the US to improve learning outcomes and student experience by supporting faculty in their use of evidence-based pedagogy (andragogy). We help research and implement relevant tools for teaching, and train and support faculty to maximize adoption.
Our Vision
Centers for teaching and learning serve as “hubs of pedagogical innovation”. They aim to improve teaching practices by offering a wide range of services to faculty, such as pedagogy (andragogy) consultations, technology recommendations, professional development, training and technical support. At institutions where online learning is offered, such centers (or related functional groups) may also offer course content and media development, and support services.
That being said, not every institution has its own center, due to different organizational priorities, budgetary concerns or other considerations. ATTECS, LLC provides an affordable way to get started. For institutions that already provide such services, we can help with short-term projects, or complementary skill sets.

Approach
Since higher education institutions vary in their missions, cultures and approaches to teaching, ATTECS utilizes a business model based on several assumptions:
-
Our client base has a wide range of needs
-
Customer needs encompass many types of academic technology
-
Customer needs require a wide range of expertise
To provide support for a wide range of needs, ATTECS draws from a large geographically distributed pool of talented consultants. Such approach assures that the appropriate set of skills is matched to the task - whether a standalone faculty development event, a year-long project, or ongoing support services.
Who We Are
Our employees and contractors are experienced instructional designers, technologists, faculty developers, librarians, project managers and others, currently or recently employed at higher education institutions in the US. Some of us also have current faculty appointments. We are actively engaged with the network of higher education professionals in our respective fields.
